Resident at St Sampson, Guernsey in 1911. Son of Edmund and Adeline F. Butler, of Avondale Drouin, Victoria, Australia. Born at Oxford, England. In 1911 he was living with his family at Delancey, St Sampson's, Guernsey. Listed as an agricultural student, his father was a retired scholmaster and his mother was a school mistress.

Killed in action, aged 19 years.
