NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 20 September 1916

Roll of Honour. Mrs Cauvain of La Motte Street last evening received a letter informing her that her husband, Rifleman Harry Cauvain of the Jersey Company Royal Irish Rifles, was killed in action on 9 September during the heavy fighting. The deceased, who prior to joining up was employed as a plasterer by Mr C Cabot of Belmont Road, leaves a widow and 5 children. We offer them our sincere sympathy.
