Son of Peter and Louise Cauvain. Husband of Louise Mary Cauvain (nee Mechem), of Le Croix, Cobo, Guernsey. Born and enlisted at Guernsey. Employed as a greenhouse hand by Mr K d'Arcy Benson of St Andrew's.

Killed in action, aged 36 years.
