Ozanne was murdered at Grayshott on 8 December 1915, aged 37 years, by Lt. Georges Codere of the 41st Battalion, the motive being theft of 9th CMR canteen funds. Codere was convicted and sentenced to death at the Winchester Assizes in early 1916, but sentence was later commuted to life in prison.

Murdered, aged 37 years.
