HMS "Cressy"
George White was the son of Henry and Sarah Jane White,
of Alderney, Channel Islands. Served in the South African
War. Sunk by German Submarine U9 in the action in the
North Sea on September 22 1914 while she had stopped
to rescue the survivors From H.M.S. Aboukir and Hogue
previously sunk in the same action
Lost aged 31 years.
