Able Seaman Samuel Webster
Drake Battalion, Royal Naval Division

Enlisted to 5th Battalion 08/09/1915 then to 1st Reserve Battalion at Blandford. To "Drake" Battalion in May 1916 and Left Blandford and joined 2nd Drake Battalion, 63rd RN Divisision, BEF as a signaller from Base Depot, Calais in August 1916.
From 21/01/1917 he was admitted to various hospitals in France suffering from "debility". Then to hospital in Manchester. On 08/05/1918 to Drake Battalion, BEF before being admitted to General Hospital Etaples following a nervous breakdown on 17/08/1918 and to RN Hospital at Netley and Notts Council War Hospital at Radcliffe-on-Trent on 29/08/1918 before being sent to Boulogne and Calais on 09/09/1918.

He was then transferred to Fovant, furloughed and demobilised on 14/05/1919

Born in 1896 at Guernsey. Son of Samuel and Mary Ann Webster of St Peter Port, Guernsey.
He was a school teacher.
