NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 30 April 1917 Roll of Honour.

Another loyal Jerseyman, Bombardier Arthur Philip Bannier of the Royal Garrison Artillery, made the supreme sacrifice during the heavy fighting in France on 10 April. The NCO, who was well known locally, was the son of Mr & Mrs F Bannier of 1 Regent Road and was serving with the 116th Heavy Battery Royal Garrison Artillery. He was only 21 and showed great promise of a successful career. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of all our readers in their bereavement.
