NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 7 May 1917

News has been received in the Island that Gunner C A F Boivin of the Royal Field Artillery has been killed in France, having been hit through the lungs and stomach by pieces of a shell which burst very close to him. Lieutenant F S Marr in communicating the sad news to Mrs Beuzeval, the deceased's sister of 84 Great Union Road, speaks in the highest terms of his devotion to duty and the high esteem in which he was held by his Commanders and comrades. We might also state that another sister, Mrs Bartlett, lost her husband who was attached to the Royal Irish Rifles last year in the fighting at Loos. We offer our sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
