NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 10 May 1916

Roll of Honour. Mr & Mrs Breban of Sunnyside, St Aubins Road, formerly of Old Farm, Mont au Pretre, have received the sad news of the death of their son, Private Louis Breban of the East Surrey Regiment, which occurred accidentally at Salonika on 19 April last. The deceased enlisted with the East Surreys over 8 years ago when they were the garrison here, and had been 4 years in India with the 2nd Battalion. He had gone safely through a number of severe engagements since the outbreak of war and his parents had been hoping to see him in the Island soon. His last visit was 2 years ago since which time he has been unable to obtain a sufficiently long leave to make the journey. We tender our sincere sympathies to the sorrowing parents and family.
