Son of Wallace George Caws. Husband of Jessie Elizabeth Caws (nee Browne), of 30, Burgess Rd., East Ham, Essex. Born at Jersey.

Killed in action, aged 32 years.

S.S. "Peshawur" (Glasgow). 7,634 tons, built 1905 by Barclay Curle & Company Glasgow as a Passenger Cargo Vessel, defensively-armed, 9 October 1917, 7 miles SE ¼ E from Ballyquintin Point, Co Down, torpedoed without warning and sunk by submarine U-96, 13 lives lost.
