NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Thursday 8 August 1918

Roll of Honour. The sad news has been received in the Island that after serving some 21 years in the Royal Engineers, Sapper A H Coutanche died at Salonika on 23 July . The deceased soldier was the son of the late Mr C F Coutanche of 22 Old St Johns Road and brother of Mrs Le Sueur, who now resides at the above address, a brother, Sergeant Henri Coutanche, is now serving in France. The late soldier was a widower and leaves two children to mourn his loss and to these, and the other relatives, we tender our sincere sympathy.
