NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Saturday 24 August 1918

Roll of Honour. It is with deep regret we chronicle the death of Sergeant Alfred P de Quetteville of the Canadians, the youngest son of the late Mr C Dumaresq de Quetteville and Mrs de Quetteville of La Compaigne, St Martins, who was killed in action on 8 August last. The deceased gallant Sergeant, who was 25, had been in Canada almost 14 years when he joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in August 1914 and had been in France since that year. He was last on leave about 12 months ago and made many friends who will regret to hear of his loss. In his Battalion he was most popular and highly esteemed by officers and men. We tender the mother, fiancee and other members of the family our heartfelt sympathy.
