Son of Thomas Oloff de Wet, C.B.E., Capt. R.N. (Retd.) and Elizabeth de Wet (nee Bradstreet), of Le Colombia Manor, Jersey. Served in H.M.S. "Queen" on staff of Admiral Mark Kerr.

Reported drowned, aged 20 years

He was born on February, 28, 1897 and was the oldest of 3 boys and 2 girls


Lost on HMS Narborough together with their sister destroyer HMS Opal in a storm on the Pentland Skerries. There was only 1 survivor out of a compliment of 160 on both ships.
