NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 24 May 1918

Roll of Honour. Mrs Fosse of 13 La Motte Street yesterday received a telegram conveying the sad news that her husband, Private V Fosse of the Hampshire Regiment, had died of wounds at the 1st Canadian Casualty Clearing Station on 17 May. A letter has also been received from a Roman Catholic Chaplain at the hospital stating that he buried the soldier on the same day. The late soldier, who was formerly employed by Mr G J Laurens as a carter, leaves in addition to the widow a large family of young children to mourn his loss and to these we would tender our heartfelt sympathy.

Commemorated on:
St Saviour's Parish Memorial, Jersey
and on St Thomas' Roman Catholic Church Memorial, Jersey
