Roll of Honour. Yet another member of the original Jersey Company of the Royal Irish Rifles has been called upon to make the supreme sacrifice. We refer to Rifleman A W Gallie, whose mother has received a letter from Acting RSM J Le Breton of the Royal Irish Rifles stating that her son was instantaneously killed in action on 8 August. The Sergeant Major concludes "your son was a fine lad and a good soldier, one any mother can be proud of." The late Rifleman was 19 and previous to volunteering for service overseas was employed by Mr J Terry. We tender the family our heartfelt condolences in their bereavement.
