NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 14 October 1918

Roll of Honour. We regret to record the death which took place on HM Hospital Ship Karapara of Arthur Bond Hubert, the son of Mr & Mrs P J Hubert formerly of Chevalier Road, Jersey and now of Kent. The deceased sailor, who joined the Royal Navy from Jersey in July 1914, had seen much service since then but unfortunately was taken ill with influenza and was removed to the Hospital Ship on 29 September, unhappily pneumonia set in and as stated above he passed away on 1 October in his 21st year and was buried at Shooters Hill Cemetery in London with full Naval honours. His father will be remembered as a former popular member of the Harbour Masters staff. We tender the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in their sorrow.
