Helier, Jersey on 18 Aug 1890 (Last home - Hillion (CdN)
and who served as Quartier maître canonnier in
the French Navy on board the LÉON-GAMBETTA
Killed in Action (lost at sea), aged 24 years

The cruiser Léon-Gambetta was sunk on 27/4/1915
by two torpedoes from Austrian submarine U5 in the Strait
of Otranto; Rear-Admiral Sénès and at
least 684 of the crew were lost. The Captain of the
Austro-Hungarian SM U-5 was, that day, none other than
Georg Johannes Ritter von Trapp.
