Jerseyman Receives Italian Decoration. Gunner James E Le Francois of the Royal Garrison Artillery has been officially granted the right to wear the Distinction of the Italian Army created by decree of 21 May 1916.

Jerseyman Dangerously Ill. Mrs S Le Francois of De Carteret House, Hilgrove Street, has received an official intimation that her son, Gunner J Le Francois of the Royal Garrison Artillery is lying dangerously ill in Salonika. Gunner Le Francois was formerly employed by the late Mr A Smith at Highfield Nurseries, St Saviours.

Death of a Jerseyman in Salonika. We regret to learn that Mr & Mrs Le Francois of De Carteret House, Hilgrove Street, have received official news of the death of their only son, Gunner James E Le Francois of the Royal Garrison Artillery, which occurred on 26 November in Salonika from malaria. The deceased, who was 30, was formerly employed by the late Mr Arthur Smith of Highfield Vineries. To the deceased's fiancee Miss A Williams and the sorrowing parents we offer our sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
