NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 28 April 1916

Roll of Honour. Yet another Jerseyman has laid down his life on the field of honour. Corporal Philip Charles Le Moignan of the East Surrey Regiment was killed in action "somewhere in France" on Easter Day. The gallant NCO was formerly a Sergeant in the West Battalion of the RMIJ and enlisted shortly after the outbreak of war. He was the eldest son of Mr & Mrs P Le Moignan and a nephew of Mr John Le Moignan of St Marys. The late Corporal was held in the highest esteem by the officers and men of his Battalion and was a most efficient NCO. He was in his 35th year. To the relatives we beg to offer our sincere condolences in their sad bereavement.
