NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 5 April 1918

Roll of Honour. Mrs Le Montais of 45 Aquila Road has received a letter from a friend of her husband, De Lecq John Richard Le Montais, this conveying the tragic news that the latter has been killed in action. The writer does not give any details but states that death was instantaneous and adds that the deceased was very much liked by all and that the widow has the deepest sympathy of all the lads in the Company. The late soldier was 33 and leaves a widow and one young child to whom we tender our heartfelt sympathy.
