News was received on Saturday of the death from wounds of Private Wilfred Le Rossignol of the 1st North Staffordshire Regiment, youngest son of the late Colonel Le Rossignol RJM and Mrs Le Rossignol of El Retiro, St Saviours Road. Private Le Rossignol, who was 35, was an Old Victorian and at the outbreak of war was on the London Stock Exchange. In October 1914 he joined the Army Pay Corps but was later transferred to the 1st North Staffs. Sometime ago he received a shrapnel wound in the knee and it was to this injury that he succumbed.
