NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 5 February 1919

Roll of Honour. Some time ago we stated that Private A Maguire of the Wiltshire Regiment had been reported missing on 21 March 1918. The relatives have had several months of anxiety and now, unfortunately, their worst fears have been confirmed by the receipt of official news to the effect that the soldier was killed on the above date. The late Private Maguire was a son of Mrs Maguire of 3 Seale Street and was, before leaving Jersey, a highly respected employee of Mr J T Ferguson. To the mother and the widow, who resides in England and who is left with three young children, we offer our heartfelt condolences.
