Youngest son of Michael Marks of China Quarries, St Lawrence, Jersey and and the late Mrs. Marks (buried at Batoum British Cemetery, plot unknown).

Died of pneumonia, aged 22 years

Roll of Honour. It is with sincere regret we announce that Mr & Mrs M Marks of the China Quarries, St Lawrence, have received telegraphic information that their youngest son, Leonard, who was serving as a Sapper in the Royal Engineers in Salonika died in that town on 3 January of pneumonia. The deceased soldier who was highly respected by all who knew him was in his 21st year and had been in the East for some time. We tender the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy.
