Killed in action, aged 25 years.

NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Tuesday 24 September 1918

Roll of Honour. We regret to record the death of another young Jerseyman, Wilfred John Martin of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps, third son of Mr A J Martin and husband of Mrs Martin (nee Dorothy Vautier) of Homestill, St Peters. The deceased, who was in his 25th year, was formerly a bugler in the West Battalion RMIJ and joining the Kings Royal Rifles had been in France some time. Unfortunately he was killed in action on 13 September. We tender the bereaved widow and other relatives our sincere sympathy.
