NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 25 March 1918

Roll of Honour. We learn that Private John Michel of the 5th Devon Regiment has died in Palestine whilst serving with the British Army operating in that country against the Turks. Private Michel, who was formerly a carter in the employ of Mr Moignard the builder of Beaumont, was called up a year ago and since last September he has been serving with that portion of our Army which has its base in Egypt. The deceased soldier, who was 31, leaves a widow and small child who will receive the sympathy of all our readers.
