Royal Navy. HMS Ettrick
07/07/1917
NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 23 July
1917
Roll of Honour. A few days ago the wife
and child of Leading Seaman Harry Miller, who reside
in England, waved goodbye from the beach to the sailor
as he passed by on one of HM ships to whom he had been
lent for a few days, but the next day the ship was sunk
and unfortunately the Jerseyman was amongst those drowned.
The late Leading Seaman Miller formerly resided in Poonah
Road and his parents left for Canada a few years back.
He had many friends in his native Island who will learn
with regret of his untimely death and to the relatives
we tender our heartfelt sympathy.
