NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 8 July 1918

Roll of Honour. A few days ago we stated that Mr & Mrs Mourant of Percy House, Gorey had received a telegram conveying the sad news that their son, Private T G Mourant of the Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry, was lying dangerously ill at 36th Casualty Clearing Station, and we now regret to hear that another telegram states that the soldier died at the above hospital on 30 June, the same day as he was admitted, from severe gunshot wounds to the left foot. The late soldier was in his 22nd year and was well known and held in high regard in the Eastern district. To the parents who have lost their only son and the other members of the family we offer our sincere condolences.
