NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 20 June 1919

Roll of Honour. About a year ago Mrs Nicolle of La Rosiere, St Martins, received the sad news that her only son, Sidney Clarence Nicolle, had been reported missing. Hope was then entertained that he might have been taken prisoner but now, unfortunately, the dreaded news has come through that the soldier was killed on or about 10 April 1918. The deceased was in his 20th year and was highly respected amongst a large circle of relatives and friends. We offer the parents and other members of the bereaved family our sincere sympathy.
