NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 17 December 1917

Roll of Honour. We regret to chronicle the death in action of another gallant young Jerseyman, Private William Ollivier of the 1st Devon Regiment, fourth son of the late Mr P Ollivier and Mrs Ollivier of Elizabeth Lane. This soldier was formerly employed by Mr W Lee, butcher, and joined up soon after the outbreak of hostilities. On 9 May last he was reported missing after an engagement in France and the widowed mother has now received official intimation that her son was killed on the date mentioned. We tender the mother and other relatives our heartfelt sympathy.
