NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Thursday 22 November 1917

Roll of Honour. We regret to have to announce the death of Private S Perchard of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. The young Jerseyman, who was 25, was killed in action in France on 6 November, the news being conveyed to the widow yesterday in a War Office message. The deceased, who was the son of Mr Philip Perchard of Anne Port, was before he joined up a plasterer in the employ of Mr du Feu of Brighton Road. He had been in France for six weeks and only for three weeks in the advanced trenches. To the widow and her little girl and all other members of the family we tender our sincere sympathy.
