Son of Charles Edwin and Eliza Jane Pralle, of 17, Balaclava Rd., Bitterne, Hants. Native of St. Saviour's, Jersey. Awarded Africa General Service Medal (Somaliland Clasp), and Naval General Service Medal (Persian Gulf).

Killed in action, aged 33 years

 



NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Thursday 15 June 1916

Roll of Honour. The parents of Arthur Charles Pralle, a Leading Stoker on HMS Black Prince, have received notification from the Admiralty that their son was killed in the naval action of 31 May last. The late seaman was in his 34th year. To the parents, who formerly resided at Jersey but who are now living at Bitterne, we offer our sincere condolences in their sorrow.
A total of 26 Jerseymen are believed to have lost their lives in the Naval Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916 and on HMS Hampshire which sank on 6 June 1916 after striking a mine off the Orkneys.
