NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 27 July 1917

Roll of Honour. It is with great regret we chronicle the death which took place in Mesopotamia on 13 July last of Sergeant Harold George Priestwood of the Royal Field Artillery. The deceased soldier was the second son of the late Mr W T Priestwood and a nephew of Sergeant Major Priestwood of West Park Avenue and had served in the Artillery for several years. He was 27 and was highly respected and very popular, not only in the service but amongst a very large circle of friends and acquaintances in this Island. The deceased soldier has a brother also in the Artillery on active service. We tender the relatives our sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
