NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 26 October 1914

Gone Down with Submarine E3. Able Seaman Peter Querotret. On Friday we reported that among the men on Submarine E3 said to have been sunk in the North Sea was Leading Seaman S V Coutanche, we now learn that there were two Jerseymen on board the ill-fated vessel the second being Able Seaman Peter Querotret a native of St Peters where his parents a number of years ago worked a small farm. 28 years of age Querotret was married some years ago and leaves a widow at Portsmouth with 4 children, one an infant born quite recently. His mother lives in Dumaresq Street and his married sister Mrs Freeman at 14 Kensington Place. He was the youngest of three brothers who all joined the Navy, the two others are in the North Sea and as far as is known are safe and well.
