Only son of Thomas and Annie Reynolds, of 18, Haverstock Rd., Gospel Oak, London. Native of Bodmin, Cornwall.

Killed in action, aged 27 years.

Roll of Honour. We regret to state that another Jerseyman has been killed in action and although his parents do not at the present time reside in the Island the soldier, Lance Corporal Charles Hubert (Bert) Reynolds, has many friends here who will regret to hear of his decease. Lance Corporal Reynolds was attached to the Royal Engineers and was a most promising soldier. The brief details received state that he was killed on 3 January and to his relatives and friends we beg to offer our sincere condolences in the bereavement.

The late Lance Corporal Reynolds. The following particulars have been received following the death of Lance Corporal Reynolds of the Royal Engineers. The deceased was employed superintending a working party constructing redoubts behind the first line of defence at about 8.30pm on 3 January when a bullet struck him in the side and penetrated through his body - death was instantaneous. He was buried on 4 January in a meadow on the Fleurbaix- Bois Grennier Road about 1 mile west of the crossroads at Bois Grennier. A cross with his name engraved will be erected over the grave. Lord Kitchener has forwarded the relatives a message of sympathy from the King & Queen
