Jerseyman Dangerously Wounded. Mr T Robert of 27 Colomberie has received news that his son, Corporal C T Robert of the Warwickshire Regiment, is lying in a dangerous condition in a French hospital as a result of a gun shot wound which penetrated the lung. We hope the next information will be of a reassuring character.

NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Saturday 13 July 1918 Roll of Honour

A few days ago we stated that Corporal C T Robert of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, son of Mr T Robert of 27 Colomberie, had been admitted to the 39th Stationary Hospital in France suffering from serious gun shot wounds and we now regret to state that a communication received from the Chaplain states that the young soldier has passed away. The Chaplain, in a most sympathetic and impressive letter, states that in the few days the Corporal had been in the hospital the doctors and nurses had become much attached to him, and he adds "In your grief you will, I hope, feel a just pride in such a good and noble life, such examples are not thrown away and the world is a better place for them". The late Corporal was 19 having joined up in March last year on reaching his 18th birthday, he was a jolly young fellow, highly respected and his loss will be felt amongst a large circle of friends and acquaintances. We tender the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in their sorrow.
