NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Tuesday 5 November 1918

Jersey Family's Double Bereavement. On Thursday last we announced the death which took place at the Brighton Road Military Hospital of Private H G Robert of the Jersey Battalion, youngest son of Mr & Mrs A Robert of Rozel, and we now regret to state that another son, Frank, who was serving in England has passed away. A telegram was sent to the soldier's wife asking her to cross, but unfortunately, owing to illness, this was impossible. We tender the bereaved family our sincere condolences.

Roll of Honour. Yet another Jersey soldier has died in England as a result of the prevailing influenza epidemic. We refer to Private F P Robert of the Wiltshire Regiment who worked for some 14 years for Mr J T Ferguson as a plasterer. He joined up about four months ago and was in training at Chatham, unfortunately he contracted septic pneumonia and died on 3 November. He was buried with full Military Honours on Friday last, his widow, sister and brother-in-law attending the interment. We offer the bereaved relatives our heartfelt condolences.
