Eldest son of Mrs Logan of Princes Tower, Jersey

Killed in action, aged 18 years

NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 20 September 1918

Roll of Honour. We regret to record the death of another popular local lad, John William (Willie) Robertson, who made the supreme sacrifice in action on 31 August. The deceased, who was not yet 19, was the son of Mrs Logan and step-son of Mr Logan of Princes Tower, and was a jolly young fellow highly respected by all and keen on his profession. He was a prominent Boy Scout and, volunteering at a young age, had for a long time past been acting as instructor in England. He was, however, anxious to get to the Front and eventually had his wish, for after returning from leave in Jersey in July last he proceeded to France and was instantaneously killed by a bullet in the heart on the last day of August. We tender the bereaved mother our sincere sympathy, feeling however that her natural grief is tempered by the fact that her son died a true hero's death.
