Husband of Emma R Rondel (nee Marett) of Waterworks Valley, St Lawrence, Jersey

Killed in action, aged 28 years.

NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Thursday 9 May 1918

Roll of Honour. Mrs Rondel of St Lawrence received notification from the War Office yesterday to the effect that her husband, Private C J Rondel of the Hampshire Regiment, was killed in action on 22 April. The deceased, who was 28, was formerly the driver of the steam roller belonging to the Parish of St Lawrence, he joined up in April 1917 and left for France in January of this year. The deceased soldier leaves a widow and three young children, and to her and the other members of the family we tender our condolences.
