NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 23 June 1919

Roll of Honour. After many months of anxiety Mr & Mrs W Smith of 26 Aquila Road have received the distressing news that their fifth son, Private Harold Thomas Smith of the 7th Somerset Light Infantry, who was reported missing on 23 March 1918 is now presumed to have been killed on or about that date. The parents loss is all the more sad when it is realised that another son, who was serving in Mesopotamia, has been missing for 3 years. The late Private H T Smith was in his 19th year and was a very popular young fellow, highly respected by all who knew him. Previous to joining the Colours he was for 4 years apprenticed to the firm of Le Feuvres the blacksmiths. We tender the bereaved family our heartfelt condolences.
