NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Tuesday 12 November 1918

Roll of Honour. It is the irony of fate that Private T Tite of the North Staffordshire Regiment, who joined up at the outbreak of hostilities and passed safely through the Gallipoli adventure and served several years in France, should have succumbed to influenza, the sad information having been conveyed to his father, who lives in Castle Street. The soldier, who was 34, was, prior to leaving Jersey to work in England, in the employ of Mr Valpy. He joined the Lancashire Fusiliers at the outbreak of war and was later transferred to the North Staffords. He was taken ill some weeks ago and succumbed on 6 November at the General Hospital in Boulogne. We tender the bereaved our sincere sympathy.
