NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post
of Friday 18 October 1918
Roll of Honour. A few days ago we stated
that Mr & Mrs G Luce of Lawn House, Grouville had
received news that their nephew, Private Sydney Touzel
of the Canadians, had been seriously wounded having
had his left leg amputated and a compound fracture of
the right leg. We now regret to announce that further
news has been received that the gallant soldier has
passed away. The deceased, who was in his 21st year,
left with his family for Canada some 5 years back and
resided in Ontario. He had been in France some time
and the news of his decease will be received with sincere
regret by scores of acquaintances and friends. We tender
the bereaved our heartfelt condolences.
