NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Saturday 29 December 1917

Lost at Sea. We regret to have to chronicle the death of Petty Officer Stoker William Tremeur Jouan, only son of Mrs Jouan of New Cottage, First Tower. The deceased was, it appears, lost at sea on 23 December by the sinking of one of HM Ships. We tender our sincere condolences to the bereaved.
