NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 24 May 1916

Roll of Honour - Sergeant of the Jersey Company Dies of Wounds. Another well known and popular member of the Jersey Company 7th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, Sergeant Frank Turner, has given his life for his King and Country. From the meagre information received it appears that the Sergeant was one of those engaged in front of the trenches on Sunday 14 May and was wounded in the legs and arms. His injuries from the start were regarded as serious and the unfortunate soldier passed away on the way to hospital. The late Sergeant was formerly a member of D Company of the Town Battalion and volunteered for service with the Overseas Company. On 17 February last year he was married to Miss Le Filliastre of St Brelades. He was in his 29th year and his decease is sincerely regretted by a large circle of friends. To the young widow and the other members of the family we beg to offer our sincere condolences.
