NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Thursday 10 June 1915

Another Jersey Lad Killed in the Dardanelles - Mr H J Underhill's Double Loss. In the middle of the day yesterday Mr H J Underhill of Victoria Street received the sad news that his son Private Richard Underhill of the Light Horse Regiment Australian Contingent had been killed on 28 (sic) May last in the fighting in the Dardanelles. Private Underhill who was last in the Island some 2 years ago was 22. His twin brother James enlisted with him and is actually serving in the Dardanelles. This is the second loss Mr Underhill has sustained since the war started, another son Clarence having gone down when HMS Good Hope foundered. To the bereaved family we offer our sincere sympathy.
