Killed in action, aged 28 years

NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 18 September 1916

Roll of Honour. Still another Jerseyman has given his life for his Country during the past few days. On Saturday last Mrs Vasse received official notification that her husband had been killed in action on 6 September. Rifleman Vasse, who was 28, leaves a widow and two children to mourn his loss. He was one of the St Helier fishermen before the outbreak of war and worked in conjunction with his father, who resides in Patriotic Place, but he was one of the first to enlist on the Jersey Contingent being formed. To the members of the bereaved family we would offer our respectful sympathy.
