NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Wednesday 26 September 1917

Jersey Family's Double Loss. Some weeks ago we announced the death in action of Rifleman Vibert of the Royal Irish Rifles, son of Mr & Mrs George Vibert of 3 Elizabeth Villas, First Tower, we then stated that another brother Rifleman John Vibert also of the Royal Irish Rifles had been missing since 6 September 1916 and we now chronicle, with sincere regret, the fact that the Army Council have been regretfully constrained to conclude that his death took place about that time. The late Rifleman John Vibert would have been 22 last March and previous to volunteering with his brother for the original Jersey Company was employed by Mr Humphreys the butcher. He was last in the Island about Christmas 1915. The family who have been so tragically bereaved of two sons we feel sure will have the full sympathy of our readers in their sorrow.
