NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 19 November 1917

Roll of Honour. It is with deep regret we chronicle the death which has taken place in action of Private Peter Vibert of the Canadian Machine Gun Corps. The gallant soldier was the son of Mr P Vibert of St Johns Road and was at one time employed at Mr P Bailhache. He left the Island with Mr George Boober in April 1907 for the land of the Maple, and joined the Colours when the call came in the early days of the war. He had been in France for some 2 years and had come through unscathed, but unfortunately has now been called upon to make the supreme sacrifice a few days before reaching his 35th birthday. To the bereaved parents and other relatives we tender our sincere sympathy.
