NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Monday 29 November 1915

Roll of Honour. We regret to have to record the death of another Jersey Canadian, Private Cyril C P Vigot, who laid down his life on the field of honour on 17 November last. The deceased, who was 28, was the youngest son of the late Mr P F Vigot of Gorey and was last in Jersey on leave in June, when he stayed with his sister, Mrs Langlois of 31 Dumaresq Street. He came over with the Canadian Expeditionary Force and has two other brothers now serving at the Front. From a letter received from one of his comrades it appears that he was with the signallers in a dugout taking down and sending messages, when the Germans commenced to shell the trenches and one went clean through the dugout and the unfortunate soldier with one of his comrades was killed instantly. To his relatives we beg leave to tender our sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
