NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Tuesday 6 June 1916

The Naval Battle. Another Jerseyman, Petty Officer Fred Vigot, was known to be serving on the Queen Mary and the Admiralty are unable to give any information as to his fate. This sailor had some 18 years service. A brother, Frank, who was also serving in the Royal Navy was wounded some time ago and is now at Portsmouth.
A total of 26 Jerseymen are believed to have lost their lives in the Naval Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916 and on HMS Hampshire which sank on 6 June 1916 after striking a mine off the Orkneys.
