NEWS ITEM in Jersey Evening Post of Friday 15 November 1918

Roll of Honour. In the midst of the horrors of war the parents of our gallant fighting lads are more or less prepared for any sad news but it certainly comes as a great shock when after the cessation of hostilities news is received of the death of a son in France. The full sympathy of our readers will, therefore, be extended to Mr & Mrs Warren of 45 Dorset Street who have received official intimation that their youngest son, Arthur Ernest, who though only 17 loyally volunteered at the outbreak of war and rose to be a Corporal in the Lancashire Fusiliers, passed away on the day previous to the signing of the Armistice at the 7th Canadian General Hospital in Etaples of bronchial pneumonia. The deceased gallant lad, who was well known and highly respected locally, was an "Old National Boy" and previous to volunteering worked for Mr Oldridge in Vauxhall. We tender the bereaved family our sincere sympathy in their sorrow.
